How to Use Our Candles
Light up your life with natural soy candles!
1. Choosing the Right Candle
Purpose: Decide whether you want candles for aromatherapy, decoration, or ambiance.
Scented or Unscented: For a fragrant environment, opt for scented candles. Unscented candles are great for dining or during allergic reactions.
Size and Shape: Consider the space where you’ll use the candle. Taller candles are great for tables, while smaller ones can be used in various settings.
2. Preparing to Light Your Candle
Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the candle wick to about 1/4 inch (6mm). This helps avoid soot and flickering flames.
Setup: Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and flammable materials. Use a candle holder if necessary.
3. Lighting the Candle
Use a Lighter or Matches: Use a long lighter or matches to safely ignite the wick. If the candle has multiple wicks, light them and keep a watch.
Safety First: Ensure you’re not leaning over the flame and keep hair and clothing away from the fire.
4. Enjoying Your Candle
Burn Time: Allow the candle to burn for at least 1-2 hours on the first burn to create an even melt pool. Candles should ideally burn for no more than 4 hours at a time.
Aromatherapy: If using scented candles, take deep breaths to enjoy the fragrance as it fills the room.
5. Extinguishing the Candle
Blow Out Safely: Gently blow on the wick to extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing too hard to prevent wax splatter.
Use a Candle Snuffer: For best results, use a candle snuffer. This minimizes smoke and helps preserve the wick and scent.
6. After Use
Allow to Cool: Let the candle cool completely before touching it or moving it. This prevents burns and preserves the shape.
Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and melting.
